10X 10X 1" Glass Surface Plate in wooden storage case Weiss? Machinist.
Unusual and hard to find antique Machinists surface plate. Does show considerable amount of use as lines have all disappeared in the center. Not sure what original intent was. I would say it's for display only at this point. Sticker ends with a word and SS which certainly could be glass or maybe Weiss. Made in Chicago. Unusual and hard to find nice displayable size could use to display things on. Boxes in typical condition for age. I would estimate this to be a hundred years old at least because it came from a quality antique auction. Have a great day
