    Description

    Pamphlet Description:  Nathaniel Emmons,
The Giver More Blessed Than the Receiver. A Discourse, Addressed to the Congregation in Franklin.
Boston: Printed by Lincoln and Edwards, 1809, 24 pages. Blue wraps. Some chipping to front and back wraps, but over-all in very good condition. Emmons (1745-1820) was an American Congregationalist minister and influential theologian of the New Divinity School, an off-branch of Calvinism.  He was born in East Haddam, CT, and for half a century probably had as much influence as any clergyman in New England.
