note from the
"Kingdom of Nepal"
. Undated, it was issued after 1981.
It pictures King Birendra Bir Bikram of Nepal in a military uniform. He had been King since 1972 but he would die in the
“Nepalese Royal Massacre”
on June 1, 2001. Nine members of the Royal family, including King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya, were killed in a mass shooting during a gathering of the royal family at the palace. Crown Prince Dipendra was the shooter, who then shot himself.
