This was the most popular and most requested gift for Brides in Korea in the 1960s and 1970s.
These Silver Chopsticks were purchased in South Korea by the original owner of Koreana Gifts dot com in the 1960s.
The Chopsticks were bought for a customer who never picked them up.
The Chopsticks have been in storage for over 50 years.
The original owner had them put the Silver Chopsticks in a Hwashin Chopstick and Spoon Box so she could prove where she bought them.
The box says chopstick and spoon set but she said they used this box to fit the eight pairs of chopsticks with no spoons.
They are clearly from Hwashin Department Store.

A note from a Friend who was living in South Korea in the 1960s.
"Holy mother of the Lord! Where did you get them?
The top part of the cover reads "A Silver Spoon & Chopsticks", and the lower part, "Gold and Silver Department", which basically means "Precious Stones Department / Shop." It was a store at the "Hwashin Department (화신 백화점)." Their silver spoons and chopsticks wrapped in golden leaflets were their specialties.
The Hwa Shin Department Stores (화신 백화점) on Jongro 1 Blvd (종로 1가), across Boshin Building (보신 빌딩) and Hanil-Gwan (한일관), a posh must-go restaurant in the old days. I was too young to remember the details, but I do remember that Hwashin was an odd combination of every-day-market and luxurious department stores. This particular jewelry store was favoured by Korean movers and shakers. They made unique gift items including silver and white gold table settings adorned with gold.
Wow... memories.
This is at least from the early 70s if not older, judging by the the Hanja and the phone numbers based on my childhood memories."
