Included in this kit are
:
a pair of lenses
a pair of lens spacers and
a copy of the instructions
These are shown in the first picture in this listing
These lenses are good for ONE of the two eyepieces
If you need to replace both eyepieces, then you need to order TWO of these kits!
Here is how the lens is constructed
:
It has two lenses and two spacers per eyepiece
The lenses are identical
One side of the lens is flat and one is concave
To put the lenses and spacers into the eyepiece
:
First put the first lens, with the flat side facing the viewing side
Put a spacer
Put the second lens with the concave side facing the spacer
Put the second spacer
So the two lenses have their curved sides inside one spacer (see also the schematic here).
The only complication
is that there are several indentations around the metal tube holding the lenses (see picture). These were put there to hold everything is pace without using glue or screwing anything. When you are trying to remove or insert a lens, you not be able to do it because of these indentations. You can try to work around this by orienting the lens at an angle. If this does not work, then you might consider flattening the indentations. You can do this by pressing them with a pair of pliers. With the indentations flattened, the lenses and rings will go in easier, but now they might stay in place well, you you might need to add (carefully) a bit of glue.
Try not to chip the lenses or break the ring
If you cannot do this, I could do it for you, for an extra fee, plus shipping back and forth.
I also might have for sale a complete assembly. I also sell achromatic lenses from time to time. Specifications for these lenses are: 25mm diameter. About 50mm focal length.
Also, consider an LED bulb, which is a great improvement! I stock these in my ebay store.
