    Description

Yes, this is the real thing!
    MACRO Stereo Realist - Complete
You are getting everything that you see in the pictures:
    1
    ) Macro Stereo Realist camera:
The Macro Stereo Realist has optically matched color-corrected, coated, anastigmat f:3.5 lenses of 35mm FL, diaphragm permanently set at f:25. Lenses are aligned and locked in place.
The Prontor-Press shutter has speeds of T, B, 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60 and 1/125, x-synchronization, self-cocking, tapered cable release. Shutter speed of 1/125 is used with electronic flash. I have fired the shutter and it sounds OK in different speeds. Most (I would say ALL) of your photography with this camera will be done with flash so the shutter speeds do not have to be accurate. The exposure will be determined by the flash.
The camera takes 35mm film (I recommend ISO 100 slide film) and uses the "Realist" 5 sprocket format. You can use standard Realist mounts (I recommend the RBT 5p mounts that I sell on my ebay store)
The camera is based on a modified standard Stereo Realist.  There is a long article in Stereo World describing the story behind the Macro Stereo Realist (you can buy this on my ebay store).  Only a few macro Realists were ever produced.
The serial number of the camera is 02527. It was purchased new in 1978.
The attachment the goes in front of the camera is used for focusing (this is the only means for aiding focus).  The legs are "telescopic" and have 3 length settings.  The instruction manual explains how to use them
    2) Flash & accessories:
The original flash that came with this camera is a Metz Mecablitz 180 but with this one I see a JC Penny flash (the instructions for the Metz 180 are included). The Metz flash used built-in rechargeable batteries so it is possible that the batteries died and the previous owner replaced them. I tested the flash and it works fine. It takes two AA batteries. You can use any small compact flash with this camera, just make sure you test it first.
Flash accessories include the camera bracket (pistol grip), a flash tilter bracket (allows you to tilt the flash down) and a PC cord to connect the flash to the camera.
    3) Camera Instructions and fliers:
Original camera instructions. Included is the original warranty card.
The camera was purchased October 14, 1978.
    4) Original Hard Case:
The original hard case is in good shape and the foam inside looks fresh! (this is unusual, in most cameras I have seen, the foam is breaking down to a terrible mess).
Everything fits nicely inside the case, as you see in one picture.
A note about the condition of the camera and warranty
I have personally reconditioned the camera (except for the Pronto shutter) and made sure that the film advances OK, etc.
I am standing 100% behind this camera
    .
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very rare and highly desirable item.
PS. I also have the accessory lens kit for sale in a different listing.
Please see my other ebay listings for similar items
