    Description

Nice Hand Carved representative example of an ancient Aleut Atlatl Throwing Board, done in wood by respected Aleut Artist Patrick Lind.  Atlatls/Harpoons have been crucial to the survival of early Alaskans for thousands of years.  The Atlatl throwing board gave an Aleut hunter the necessary leverage to hunt from the seated position in a Umiak on the open ocean.   Mr. Lind has brought his artistry to one of the most important of Aleut Hunting implements.  This piece is hand carved, hand embellished signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.  Please check out my other Alaskan items.  Please note that the last picture is taken on a 1" x 1" grid for reference.
