    Description

    This very interesting and unique piece is a beautiful Native American Hand Painted and Decorated Gourd, with a leather carrying strap decorated with shells and beading. There are designs branded or etched into the gourd all around and the last photo shows a delicate “pinpoint” swirl design. The top end is wrapped in fine natural roping, topped off with a ring of colorful beading.
    This is truly a piece of art!
    Measures 18” long about 17” in diameter at its widest. Very lightweight.
    It appears to be a primitive instrument of some sort or a water jug, however, there is no opening in the gourd so I’m unsure what it was used for.
