from Florida
These fossil MUD shells are from from the Pliocene period, part of the Caloosahatchee Formation.   They were collected at the bottom of the Big Island Aggregate Mine, Immokallee, Fl.   It is now closed to the general public like most fossil shell pits in Florida.
You get the exact specimens shown in the photos above.  The  2 Mud SHELLS,
Pyrazus scalatus
are 4.6 cm and 4.3 cm long.
