This fossil VASE CONCH shell is from
from the Pliocene period, part of the Caloosahatchee Formation.
It was collected at the
bottom of the Newburn APAC Pit, Sarasota
, Fl.   It is now closed to the general public like most fossil shell pits in Florida.

is 6.8 cm long.
