This is an unusual stereo slide viewer from the 1950s.
I will try to describe how it works.  Inside the viewer there is a
drum
.  This drum can be loaded with
60 stereo slides.
The drum goes inside the viewer as shown below.  You can view the slides one after the other by rotating the drum. The slides fall from the drum to the viewing area. To change slides, just
push the handle
on the right.  The light is ON and turns off while the slide is being changed.
The viewer features internal illumination via
two
2.5V light bulbs.  It is powered with four D size batteries and the DC battery box included here. Please note that the batteries are parallel, not in series. So both pairs of batteries face the same way. You can use just a pair of batteries if you like. The contacts are thin and rather flimsy but it should work.
The viewer has
focusing
but no interocular adjustment.  The
lenses
are single-element.  The lever on the left side of the viewer is used to advance from one slide to the next.  A small window at the top shows the slot number in the drum.  There is a tripod tread at the bottom.
Being able to see 60 slides in a row before having to unload or replace carousels is the big plus of the viewer.
However, not all slide mounts will work well with this viewer.

A lot of people use simple inexpensive cardboard mounts.  Sometimes these do not fall off the drum for viewing and you need to tap the viewer gently.
The RBT or glass-mounted slides are too thick and do not work with this viewer!
