Description

This listing is for a set of 2 chopsticks and chopsticks boxes, including a box strap for each.
Each set of a pair of chopsticks and a chopsticks box is contained in a white paper box.
The dark colored ones are made of ebony tree, and the other red-purple ones are made of purpleheart tree.
Ebony chopsticks are a little longer than purple heart ones as these are intended to be used especially by husband and wife.
In Japanese they are called “meoto-bashi (夫婦箸),” which means “2 pairs of chopsticks for husband and wife.”
Cherry blossoms and Japanese maple leaves are beautifully expressed by the hands of well-experienced Japanese craftspeople with the outstanding traditional technique of inlaid work using shells and natural wood.
The craftspeople carved the surface of wood very delicately into the shapes of the blossoms and leaves, and then they inlaid shells there.
