In thislisting we have the head from Growing Up Skipper. This doll head wasreleased by Mattel in 1975 and was a pretty bold choice for the time.This doll head uses the classic Skipper face mold, but is very 1970’sin it’s styling. It has golden blonde hair with a slightly shaggyhairstyle, large blue eyes, and orange colored lips. This doll headwas made in Hong Kong. It uses the vintage Skipper style neck knoband will need a similar body.
Thisdoll head is in good shape. It has been played with and does havesome issues, along with some age issues and factory issues. Thedoll’s hair looks good. She does have some broken strands here andthere, but the average amount for a played with doll. Her part lineis a little off centered. It’s also a little uneven, there’s morehair at the start on one side then the other. Her hairline is alittle less then perfect, looks like rooting machine missed a couplespots. The sides of the doll’s hair is pretty short, but I believethat’s intentional. Her hair is a little dry feeling and the endsmight be slightly frizzy. She could use some minor hair styling help.The doll’s head is very hard. It also seems to have shrunk, it’ssmaller then your average Skipper. She will need to have her headheated up to put on a new body. I would be careful putting her headon a body since handed vinyl could be a little more fragile. Shemight need a body with a smaller neck knob compared to her originalbody. The doll’s face paint looks good. Her right eyebrow is darkercompared to the left one. The doll’s eyes look good. The white linein her pupils aren’t even. One is bigger than the other. The doll’slips look good. They are a little thin, but that looks intentional.There is a black dot on the doll’s right side along her jawline.Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of this dollhead.
