Description
Vintage rare Homelite gas can manufactured by Eagle with brass nozzle and oil measuring cup marked in both fractions of US and Canadian Imperial pints. Measuring cup is flanged and stores inside the gas can under the filler cap.Can is 11” diameter, 7” high not including the handle. Filler cap is chained to handle and has a brass push button vent on top. Brass nozzle is interesting. It swivels 360 degrees, note shiny tapered end that fits in a tapered seat retained by a spring and a knurled ring nut. The shinny taper illustrates the patina on the remainder of the nozzle which was exposed to the atmosphere. The outlet end has a spring loaded valve that is normally closed. The two bars at 180 degrees, when pressed against the mouth of the tank being filled, open the valve. Nozzle stores on top of the handle.
There are three minor dents on the top above the Homelite sign and a few spots where the paint is chipped.
